CAT8 Network Cable Standards

The corresponding IEC 61935-1 5th edition standard will be ratified in autumn 2017. It specifies the parameters and accuracy required for structured cabling certification based on ISO/IEC performance classes to Class II. It also distinguishes between Class I and Class II accuracy limits when testing frequencies up to 2000MHz. Two standards define how to test cabling from CAT5E to CAT8.2 components and which accuracy is required to reach the 2GHz frequency range.
