What does jumper mean

The jumper is actually a metal connecting wire connecting the two demand points of the circuit board (PCB). Due to different product designs, the jumper uses different materials and thickness.

Most jumpers are used for the transmission of the same potential voltage, and also for the reference voltage of the protection circuit. For those with precision voltage requirements, the voltage drop generated by a little metal jumper will also have a great impact on the product performance.

For jumpers, an important performance is the performance problem when bending. Because UTP twisted pair is generally solid core, it has poor manageable performance. First, the cable is relatively hard, which is not conducive to bending. Second, the solid core cable will have obvious return loss when bending, resulting in the decline of cable performance. Therefore, there are clear requirements on the bending radius for the solid core cable.
